Evie Von Rathe lives in Blight Harbor--the seventh most haunted town in America--with her aunt Desdemona, the local paranormal expert. There she meets The Clackity, a shifty creature that lives in the shadows and seams of the slaughterhouse. The unsettling entity will help Evie get Des back... for a price. She must find the ghost of John Jeffrey Pope, a serial killer who once terrorized Blight Harbor long ago. Evie reluctantly agrees to journey into a chilling otherworld filled with hungry witches, penny-eyed ghosts, and other dangerously fickle beings, all while being pursued by a dead man whose only goal is to add Evie to his collection of victims.
