Anne Shirley has done a lot of growing up since she was adopted by Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert and found her home at Green Gables. Yet Anne is still disappointed with her red hair. On a whim, she buys a bottle of dye, dreaming of turning her hair raven black like her bosom friend Diana's. Unfortunately, things don't go according to plan, and Anne decides to focus on improving herself inside instead. This leads to a new dream taking shape: something that will require even more growing up--plus courage and plenty of heart.
