All Caro Monday wants is to spend school vacation with her two mothers, her best friend Horace, and her bunny His Nibs. But when her mother, a world-famous whistler, disappears on a performance trip, Caro is sent to live with her great-aunt she's only heard miserable things about. To make matters worse, His Nibs isn't allowed to come with her! And then she discovers a small painting of a thrush hidden in the lining of her suitcase . . . which turns out to be a stolen masterpiece that some dangerous art thieves are searching for. Before long, Caro and her friends are racing across 1950s London seeking not only to return the purloined painting to its rightful owner but also to solve a decades-old mystery--and the much more recent mystery of Caro's mother's disappearance.
