Alex's best friend is leaving town for the summer, his maybe sort-of crush hasn't spoken to him since he ditched Alex on the first day of sixth grade, and now Alex's mom is sending him and his annoying younger sister, Mags, on a cruise with the dad who abandoned them. But none of this could prepare Alex for the actual end of the world. Too bad that's exactly what's coming, after a creepy shadow monster kidnaps Mags and she gets possessed by the ancient spirit of Death. Now it's Alex (equipped with mysterious new powers) and his friends versus the otherwordly threats of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Just your average summer vacation.
