When deep snow blankets the land, no letters, parcels or news of any kind can travel between the villages on either side of the forest. So, with sled dog Nimoosh at their side, Sage and her father strap on their snowshoes and load the villagers' mail onto their toboggan. But another storm is coming, and there are wolves in the woods. Can sage and her father outrun the storm and get themselves -- and the mail -- to the next village safely? Inspired by the author's great-great-grandfather, this story honors the skill and bravery of Indigenous mail carriers.
